Beginner Level

Puzzle 1

10 persons are sitting on 10 chairs in two rows having 6 chairs each such that 1 chair is vacant in each row. In row 1 – A, B, C, D and E are sitting facing South. In row 2 – P, Q, R, S, and T are sitting facing North. All chairs in 1 row are directly opposite the 1 chair in another row. Sitting adjacent means there is no vacant seat in between the persons. Vacant chairs are not facing each other.

A is sitting on the second chair which is right of C. P is facing the one who is sitting at second chair to the right of A. R is facing the one who is sitting second to the left of E. Two people are sitting between P and Q. D is facing the vacant chair. There are 2 chairs between B and D. B is facing the one who is sitting at immediate left of R. P is not facing E. E is facing the one who is sitting adjacent to P. Two people are sitting between S and T such that T is sitting to the right of P.

Puzzle – 2

Eight friends Ashutosh, Deepak, Kriti, Monika, Piyush, Ruchi, Srishti and Tushar are sitting around circular table and pursuing eight different courses, viz. B. Com, B. Sc, BA, MBBS, B. Tech, MBA, M. Tech and MA, not necessarily in the same order. They are also learning three foreign languages, viz. French, Mandarin and German. At least two persons learn one foreign language.

Only Monika and Piyush are learning French. Monika is third to right of Piyush. Ashutosh is pursuing M. Tech and is learning Mandarin and is sitting to the immediate right of Piyush. Ruchi is pursuing MBBS and is learning German. Tushar is learning the same language as Srishti learns who is third to left of Ruchi and fourth to right of Deepak. Kriti is sitting exact opposite of Monika who is pursuing B. Com. Persons pursuing MA and BA are learning Mandarin. Srishti is pursuing MBA while Deepak is pursuing BA who is learning Mandarin. Tushar is pursuing B. Tech.

Moderate Level

Puzzle 3

10 persons A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I and J are sitting around a
rectangular table in such a way that 4 of them sit at the corners, 2 each on the longer sides and one each on smaller sides of the rectangle but not necessarily in the same order. 5 of them are facing inside while others are facing outside. Each of them belong to different state- Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Punjab and Sikkim but not necessarily in the same order.

i) Both B and G sit diagonally opposite to each other and faces opposite direction to each other.
ii) F sits neither at corners nor at either of the larger sides of
the rectangle.
iii) E and F faces the same direction.
iv) The one who belongs to Manipur sits on the immediate left of the one who belongs to Himachal Pradesh.
v) H belongs to neither Himachal Pradesh nor Mizoram but faces inside.
vi) The one who belongs to Gujarat sits on the immediate right of C, who belongs to Bihar.

Puzzle – 4

A certain number of people are seated in a row facing north and they drive different cars.

Rajat occupy fourth place from the left end of the row. Rohit sits at one of the extreme ends of the row and drives Breeza. Raju drives Desire and there is only one seat to the right of Raju. There are 2 seats between Raju and one who drives Alto. Number of persons between Richa and Rehana are same as that of persons between Rachit and Richa. Ritwik is an immediate neighbor of Rohit. There is a vacant seat between Rajat and Ritwik and both of them likes either Zen or Maruti. Rohan sits to the immediate left of Rachit. Richa, who drives Alto sits exactly in between the vacant seats. There is a vacant seat to the immediate right of Raju. Rajat sits third to the left of Rachit and none of the seats between Rajat and Rachit is vacant. One of the person sitting in the row is Ram.

Advance Level

Puzzle – 5

There are certain numbers of boxes which are placed in three stacks – stack 1, stack 2 and stack 3 from West to East. At least two boxes are placed in each stack. Each stack has seven shelves in such a way that the lowermost shelf is numbered 1, the shelf immediately above lowermost shelf is numbered 2 and so on… No two boxes are placed in the same stack in same shelf.

Five shelves are between box B and box F but not placed in the same stack. Box E and F are not placed in same stack. Box E is placed in stack 1. Box A is placed south east of box G and west of box H. Box G is not placed at top most position. Box M is placed two places above box H in same stack. Box B is in north east direction of Box C. Two shelves are placed between D and A. Box D is placed east of box F. Box E is placed at even number position. More than Two known boxes are placed in left most stack. Box C is placed three shelves above box E.
