Piyush, Aftab, Ritu, Sudhi, Tanvika, Vijay, Nitin and Zaheer are eight friends studying in three different colleges – X, Y and Z in three courses – B.com, BBA and Mass Communication with not less than two and not more than three in any college. Not more than three of them study in any of the three disciplines.

Nitin studies BBA in college Y with only Tanvika, who studies B.com. Piyush and Zaheer do not study in college Z and study in the same course but not BBA. Ritu studies B.com in college Z with Vijay, who studies BBA. Sudhi studies B.com and does not study in the same college where Ritu studies. Aftab does not study Mass Communication.

Puzzle 2

Eight friends A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are seated in a straight line, facing north, but not necessarily in the same order.

H sits at the extreme right end of the line. Only four people sit between H and C. Both B and F are immediate neighbours of C. Only two people sit between F and E. E is not an immediate neighbour of H. D sits second to the left of A.

Puzzle 3

Twelve people are sitting in two parallel rows containing six people each, in such a way that there is an equal distance between adjacent persons. In row-1 A, B, C, D, E and F are seated and all of them are facing south. In row-2 P, Q, R, S, T and V are seated and all of them are facing north. Therefore, in the given seating arrangement each member seated in a row faces another member of the other row.

V sits third to the right of S. S faces F and F does not sit at any of the extreme ends of the line. D sits third to the right of C. R faces C. The one who is facing E sits third to the right of P. B and P do not sit at the extreme ends of the line. T is not an immediate neighbour of V and A is not an immediate neighbour of C. R does not sit at the extreme end.
