Eight people A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H live on the separate floors of a nine-floor building such that one floor is vacant but not necessarily in the same order. The ground floor is numbered 1, the first floor is numbered 2 and so on until the topmost floor is numbered nine.

A lives on an odd numbered floor above floor number 5. There are two floors between the floor on which A lives and E lives. B lives on an odd numbered floor but not immediately above or immediately below E. There are as many persons living between A and G as there are between A and D. D lives below A. C lives on the ground floor. Only four persons live above E. F lives above H.

Puzzle 2

Eight students L, M, N, O, A, B, C and D are sitting in a circle at equal distances. Some of them face outside and some of them face inside.

M is not near to both O and N. N and A face the same direction which is opposite to B. D and B face the same direction which is opposite to O. N is sitting second to the left of C, who is facing the centre. M is facing the centre. M is sitting to the third right of B. N is sitting third to the left of O, who is second right of L, who is facing opposite to the centre. A is not opposite to N.

Five persons i.e. K, L, M, N and O are sitting around a pentagon shaped table. All are sitting at the corners of the table and facing inside the table. They all belong to different cities i.e. Jaipur, Udaipur, Indore, Dehradun and Haridwar. All the information is not necessarily in the same order.

One person sits between M and the one who belongs to Dehradun.K sits to the immediate right of the one who belongs to Dehradun.The one who belongs to Indore sits second to the right of K.The one who belongs to Haridwar sits adjacent to the one who belongs to Indore but doesn’t sit adjacent to the one who belongs to Dehradun.L sits second to the right of the one who belongs to Haridwar.The one who belongs to Jaipur sits to the immediate right of the one who belongs to Indore.O neither belongs to Haridwar nor Dehradun.
