Eight friends O, P, Q, R, Z, T, U and V are sitting around a circle, facing the center, but not necessarily in the same order.

P is second to the left of U, who is fourth to the right of Q. V is opposite O, who is second to the right of Z. O is not an immediate neighbor of P or U. R is an immediate neighbor of Q.

Puzzle 1

Eight persons A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H are staying on an eight-story building. The lowermost floor is numbered 1 and the topmost floor is numbered 8. They belong to different countries i.e. Japan, India, Germany, the US, China, Canada, Russia, and France, not necessarily in the same order.

The number of the person above F is one less than the number of the person below F. Three persons are between F and the one who belongs to Canada. G belongs to France and staying on the even-numbered floor somewhere below F. The number of the person below G is same as above H. B belongs to India and lives just below H. The number of person between B and A is same as A and G. More than two persons are between A and C. D belongs to Russia. Two persons are between E and the one who belongs to China. The one who belongs to Germany lives just above the one who belongs to US.

Puzzle 2

Eight friends Tina, Uday, Vishal, Ajay, Mihir, Rishit, Jyoti, and Brijesh. They belong to eight different cities, viz Jaipur, Nainital, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Lucknow, Raipur, Dehradun, and Kanpur. They all like four different flavors of ice-cream, viz Chocolate, Pista, Kesar, and Pineapple. At least one person likes one flavour but not more than two like the same flavour.

Rishit belongs to Chandigarh who likes Kesar flavor. The one who belongs to Kolkata does not like Chocolate. Ajay likes Pineapple. Mihir likes Pineapple and belongs to Dehradun. Vishal likes Pista and Jyoti does not belong to Nanital. The one who belongs to Kolkata likes the ice-cream which is liked by the one who belongs to Jaipur. The one who belongs to Lucknow likes Pineapple. Tina likes Chocolate. Uday belongs neither to Nanital nor to Jaipur. The one who belongs to Raipur likes Chocolate. The one who belongs to Nanital likes the same Ice-cream which is liked by Tina. Vishal neither belongs to Lucknow nor Jaipur. Brijesh likes Chocolate. Uday neither belongs to Kolkata nor Jaipur.
