The main aim of this scheme is to ensure that girls get an education at least till 18 years of age and delay their marriages. Through this scheme, the life and status of girls will also be improved as they’ll get an education.  Under the West Bengal Kanyashree, Prakalpa financial help will be provided to girls who are from 13 years of age till 18 years of age and are enrolled in class 8th to 12th. There is also an income criterion in order to apply for This scheme but this income criterion does not apply to those girls with special needs, orphans, and girls in JJ homes.

There are two kinds of incentive that are provided under the WB kanyashree prakalpa scheme which are as follows:-

• An annual scholarship of Rs 750 per annum to the girls in the age group 13 to 18 years and in class 8th to 12th provided that they are unmarried at that time
• One time grant of Rs 25000 when the girl turns 18 years provided that she is engaged in the academic or occupational pursuit and unmarried

The main objective of the West Bengal Kanyashree Prakalpa 2021 is to provide financial help to girls so that they can continue their higher education and delay marriage. This scheme is primarily launched in order to control child marriage. For this purpose, the government of West Bengal is providing financial help annually if the girl is continuing education till class 12th. So that the parents are motivated to educate their girls and delay their marriage at least till 18 years of age.

• Through this scheme, the status of girls will improve.
• Under this scheme financial help of Rs 750 per year will be provided to girls
• This financial help is provided to girls who are studying in class 8th to 12th or from 13 years of age till 18 years of age
• Under West Bengal kanyashree prakalpa 2021 School one-time grant of Rs 25,000 will also be provided to girls when she turns 18 years of age
• The financial help will be directly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiary
• There’s also an income criterion to apply for this scheme but for girls with special needs orphans and girls in JJ homes this income criterion is waived

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal
• The applicant’s age must be from 13 years to 18 years
• The candidate should Enrolled in class 8 to class 12 or equivalent
• The annual income of the family should be Rs 1,20,000 or less
• For girls with special needs, orphans, and girls in JJ homes this income criterion is waived
• The girls who are are with special needs and below class 8th can also apply for this scholarship
• This scholarship is also open for various vocational, technical, and sports courses
