Houses play a vital role in our lives, serving as spaces where we create cherished memories with family and friends. In response to this need, the Telangana government has launched the Telangana 2BHK Housing Scheme 2025 to provide homes for the state’s residents. This initiative aims to gradually offer 2-bedroom houses to all poor, houseless families within Telangana. Each housing unit will feature two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and two bathrooms (bath-cum-WC), commonly referred to as 2BHK. Originally introduced in 2015 for financially disadvantaged citizens, the project faced delays due to various issues. However, it has now resumed with the goal of constructing 5.72 lakh houses for low-income families by the end of 2024. This post will provide a comprehensive overview of the Telangana 2BHK Housing Scheme, including details on the online application process.

Overview of Telangana 2BHK Housing Scheme 2025
The Telangana 2BHK Housing Scheme was launched by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in 2015 to help individuals in need of housing who cannot afford it. This innovative program requires no contribution from the beneficiaries, making it a valuable resource for those facing financial challenges. The 2BHK houses are designed to protect recipients from falling into debt traps, a common issue in rural areas where income is heavily reliant on seasonal conditions. Typically, these housing units range in cost from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8.65 lakh, but the Telangana government has gone above and beyond by offering them at no cost to the beneficiaries. Currently, the housing department is in the process of constructing 2.80 lakh homes, with each 2BHK apartment estimated to cost around Rs 5.30 lakhs. To fund this initiative, Telangana plans to secure Rs 2,500 crore from Hudco, Rs 1,365 crore from PMAY allocations, and Rs 185 crore from state revenues.

It is a fully subsidized program aimed at assisting low-income families in both urban and rural areas.
