Syllabus for Phase I – Prelims Exam
The following themes or topics must be covered in the preliminary entrance test.

- General Knowledge (including Current Affairs)
- The Indian Penal Code, 1860.
- The Law of Contract, 1872.
- The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.
- The Indian Evidence Act, 1872.

Syllabus for Phase II – Mains Exam
Four 100-mark papers, covering the following topics, will make up the Main Exam’s four papers. Three hours will be allotted for each paper.

- The Indian Penal Code, 1860.
- Procedural Law (The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 and The Code of Criminal Procedure,1973).
- The Limitation Act, 1963.
- The Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
Paper – II
- The Contract Act, 1872
- The Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996
- The Sales of Goods Act, 1930
- The Transfer of Property Act, 1882
- The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881
Paper – III
- The Hindu Law and The Mohammedan Law
- Jurisprudence
- Rent Control Law.
- The Specific Relief Act, 1963
Paper – IV
- Language – Hindi & English (Essay, Precis writing, Translation & Paraphrasing)
Phase III – Viva
A Viva-Voce Test worth 100 points will be administered. For general category applicants taking the Viva-Voce Test, the minimum qualifying score is 25%; for SC/ST/OBC/BC candidates, it is 20%.

- The prelims exam is objective type and the duration of the test is 2 hours.
- A total of 100 questions are asked in the exam and each question contains 1 mark.

- The prelims exam score will not be considered for the mains exam scoring.
- There is no negative marking in the prelim exam.

- In Mains Exam, there are four papers.
- Each Paper contains 100 marks and each paper’s duration is 3 hours.
- Attending each paper is mandatory.
- There shall be Viva Voce for 100 Marks. The qualifying marks are 25% for the General/ EWS Category and 20% for SC, ST, EBC and BC.
