SBI Clerk Prelims Targeted Puzzles

Puzzle 1

A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are sitting around a square table in such a way that four of them sit at four corners of the square while four sit in the middle of each of the four sides. The ones who sit at the four corners face the centre while those who sit in the middle of the sides face outside. Two females sit in the middle of the sides and two at the corners.


A sits second to the left of G. G sits in the middle of one of the sides. C sits fourth to the right of his wife and his wife is not an immediate neighbour of A or G. B sits third to the right of her husband. B does not sit at any of the corners. Only D sits between B and H. H is the husband of A. E is a male.

Puzzle 2

Seven persons were born in the same year but different months January to July. They like different types of movies- Horror, Comedy and Action. Atleast two but not more than three persons like same type of movie.

A is older than C and likes comedy movie. Only two persons born in between G and D who was born in the month have odd number of days. E does not like comedy movie. B was born in May and is younger than C. The one who was born in April likes Action movie. F is older than D who does not like Action movie. Only three persons were born in between E and F both of them likes same type of movie but not action movie. F is neither second oldest person nor like Action movie. B and D like same type of movie.

Puzzle 3

Eight persons A, B, C, D, P, Q, R and S are sitting around a circular table. Some of them are facing inside the center while some are facing outside the center. Persons who face inside the center like some beverages and persons who face outside the center like some food items.

Q sits third to the right of P and likes Sandwich. A sits second to the right of B. Only two persons sit between the one who likes pizza and the one who likes juice. B sits third to the left of C who is an immediate neighbour of Q. C likes coffee. A is an immediate neighbour of C and does not like any food Items. The one who likes tea sits third to the left of P. The one who like shake sits second to the right of the one who likes burger. R is not an immediate neighbor of P and likes some food. S neither likes Shake nor Lassi.

Puzzle 4

Seven boxes are placed one above other, each box has different weight. All boxes are arranged in such a manner, lightest box is placed in top of the stack and the heaviest box is placed at bottom.

One of the boxes is 75kg. More than three boxes are placed in between box F and box G. Only two boxes are placed in between D and A which is 60kg. Three boxes are placed in between B and C. The third lightest box is 35kg. Box F is lighter than D. Box C is heavier than B. Weight of box E is double of box D. Box F is 13kg lighter than box B which is 10kg heavier than D. Difference between the weight of box A and C is 21kg.

Puzzle 5

Eight persons K, L, M, N, O, P, Q and R sitting in a row. Some of them are facing north while some are facing south. N and M sits 5th to the right of each another but none of them sits at an extreme end. L and K sits third to the left of each another but none of them sits at an extreme end.

Q sits third to the right of N. P sits second to the right of L. R sits third to the left of P. K sits second to the left of O. Both the person sitting at extreme ends faces opposite direction to each other. R sits to the left of L and both of them are facing opposite direction to each other. Q does not face south direction. Not more than two persons sitting together face same direction.
