The Bihar Vidhan Sabha Sachivalaya exam follows a two-stage selection process:

Preliminary Exam:

This objective-type exam consists of 100 questions carrying 4 marks each, totaling 400 marks. The time limit is 2 hours. There’s negative marking of 1 mark for every incorrect answer.

Mains Exam:

Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Exam proceed to the Mains Exam. It comprises two  papers: General Hindi and General English, each carrying 100 marks. The minimum qualifying mark for each  paper is 30%.

70 minutes will be allotted for Hindi typing for transcription.
