SBI PO Group Discussion Tips:

In SBI Group Discussion, you would be required to sit in 10 candidates batch in a semicircle way.

Language isn’t a barrier here, as you can select any of the languages (English/Hindi) provided you are able to communicate your thoughts properly.

For preparing Group Discussion, you need two things-

  • Background knowledge (General Awareness of the latest happenings around the world)
  • And secondly how to perform well in a Group Discussion
  1. Justify the topic by talking in context to the topic.
  2. Be Polite and sound impressive
  3. Be patient and wait for your turn.
  4. If you start the discussion before everyone or you conclude it effectively, it shows your leadership quality.
  5. Avoid deviation and Keep your discussion on the right track
  6. Being full of facts and statistics is the best way to grab attention. Go through the newspapers and current events regularly to be clear with the statistics and facts
  7. GD Topics may differ. It may be either Factual, Case studies, or Abstract. Be clear with the topic and related points before you start speaking
  8. Avoid presenting Extreme personal views
  9. As it is a discussion always respect other person opinion and views.
  10. There should be clarity in your views
  11. Improve your speaking skills

  • Apart from RBO, what are the other levels of offices that are set up by SBI?
  • What are the qualities that make a good banker?

Interview 2:

  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?
  • Tell me something about the state you belong to.
  • What were you doing after graduation?
  • Why haven’t you appeared in any placement drive?
  • Suppose that you are appointed as branch manager in a metropolitan city and you have to expand your bank business. What will you do?
  • Some Acts related to Banking

Interview 3:

  • You are a mechanical engineer, so tell me what types of machines are used in banks?
  • What is demonetization and was it successful?
  • What is cybercrime? What is called cybercrime in banking?
  • Tell me the difference between rupay and master card?
  • What is Jhan Dhan yojana and how have banks benefitted from this scheme?

Interview 4:

  • Tell me about yourself.
  • So you are a civil engineer, tell me some features of a smart city.
  • What is DICGC?
  • What do you know about MNREGA?
  • What is the difference between NEFT and RTGS?
  • Tell me about the Doklam issue.

Overall Experience: The whole interview was average and the questions were related to the educational background of the candidates and the projects taken during their colleges.
