Nestled on the slopes of Elk Hill, the Ooty Rose Garden is just 2 km from the Ooty bus station and is maintained by the Department of Horticulture and Plantation Crops. This garden is an ideal destination for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike. Spanning 4 hectares and featuring five terraced levels, the garden is located at an elevation of 2200 meters. Key highlights include the beautifully arranged terraces, the Nila Maadam, and the enchanting rose archways.
Visitors can unwind and soak in the serene atmosphere while sitting on the benches scattered throughout the garden. There is also a spacious parking area available nearby. Within the garden, you can discover a diverse range of rose varieties in various colors. Additionally, a selection of seeds can be purchased on-site. From the Nila Maadam, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire garden. The best time to visit is between March and June when the roses are in full bloom.
