Eight persons – Amala, Bhanu, Chinnu, Dolly, Edward, Francis, Ganesh and Hamsa have exams on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with two exams in each day in the same week. The exam is scheduled either at 8 PM or 2 PM.

Bhanu’s exam is on Wednesday. There is one exam scheduled between Amala and Bhanu’s exam. Dolly and Chinnu have exams on the same day. Ganesh has an exam at 8 PM of one of the days. Amala’s exam is either on Monday or Wednesday. Exam of Hamsa is immediately after the exam of Chinnu. The number of exams between Amala and Edward is same as the number of exams between Dolly and Ganesh. Exam of Francis is somewhere before Ganesh’s exam.

Puzzle 2

Ten members of a family are sitting in a restaurant in two parallel rows of chairs containing five people each, in such a way that there is equal distance between adjacent persons. In row 1‐ G, H, I, J and K are seated and all of them are facing south. In row 2‐ R, S, T, U, and V are seated and all of them are facing north. Each of them likes different colors, viz Red, Black, White, Green, Blue, Grey, Yellow, Pink, Orange, and Brown but not necessarily in the same order. In the given seating arrangement, each member seated in a row faces another member of the other row.

U sits third to the left of the person who likes Orange. G, who likes Green faces the immediate neighbour of U. I, who likes White, sits second to the right of G. Only one person sits between H and J, who like Black and Grey respectively. S and V are immediate neighbours of each other. V does not face G and H, likes Red. S does not like Orange. R sits second to the right of the person who likes Blue. T likes neither Green nor Yellow. The one who likes Black faces the one who likes Brown. K does not like Green.
