RRB NTPC Syllabus 2020: The RRB NTPC 2019-20 Recruitment Notification has been released for the posts of Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) by Railway Recruitment Board(RRBs). A total of around 35,277 vacancies have been introduced this year. The information of the RRB NTPC Syllabus & Exam Pattern is required if a candidate wishes to qualify for the upcoming RRB NTPC 2019-20 examination.

RRB NTPC Syllabus & Exam Pattern :

RRB NTPC 2020 Examination will be conducted in two phases i.e. 1st stage(Prelims) and 2nd stage(Mains). The Syllabus for RRB NTPC stage 1 and stage 2 are similar. The main change in stage 1 and stage 2 for the RRB NTPC examination is the examination pattern. RRB NTPC examination will comprise three sections i.e Mathematics (Arithmetic Skill), Reasoning & General Intelligence, and General Awareness (General Science). The detailed RRB NTPC Syllabus is provided below:

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern 2020

Below we have provided exam pattern of Tier 1 and Tier 2 of this exam. Let me tell you that those who qualify in Tier 1 will be called for Tier 2.

  • Total time duration for tier 1 exam will be 90 minutes.
  • Total marks will be 100, in which 1 mark will be prescribed for each question.
  • For every wrong answer 1/3 marks will be deducted.
  • The exam duration for PWD candidates is 120 minutes.
    The first stage CBT is of screening in nature.

  • The time duration fo PWD candiates will be 2 hours.
  • The level of questions will be different for different level of posts.
  • Normalization will be applied.
  • For every wrong answer 1/3 marks will be deducted.

RRB NTPC Selcetion Process

The recruitment process shall involve 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable) and Document Verification/Medical Examination. Selection will made strictly as per merit, on the basis of below mentioned recruitment stages.

  • 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test
  • Document Verification
  • Medical Examination

Based on the performance of candidates in the Stage-1 and Stage-2 exam, they would be required to go for the Skill Test/Aptitude Test/Document Verification. Candidate who will qualify the first stage CBT they will be called for Second Stage CBT.

RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test (TST)

  • Qualifying in nature.
  • Eight times the number of vacancies will be called for typing test.
  • The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without editing tools and spell check facility.
