Six persons with different sun signs of Aries, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Taurus have a daughter each. Everyone’s daughter has a favourite flower and reads in different classes of the same school from class I-VI. The favourite flowers are rose, daisy, tulip, orchid, jasmine, marigold not necessarily in the same order.


The daughter of the person with sun sign Leo has is not studying in class IV or V and has favourite flower tulip. The girl studying in Class IV does not like a rose. The daughter of the person with sun sign Aries studies in Class II. The daughter of cancer sun sign loves daisy and does not study in Class IV. The one who likes marigold studies in class VI. Taurus’ daughter like orchid and study I. The daughter of Libra does not study is class IV.

Puzzle – 2

There are 8 people – A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H who are made to sit in a row having 10 seats numbered left to right. All are facing North and are not necessarily sitting in the same order. They belong to different states – Bihar, Punjab, J&K, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Haryana but not necessarily sitting in the same order. Six people out of 8 are Engineers and the remaining two are Doctors. If two people are sitting on consecutive seats, then only they will be considered neighbours.

Six of these 8 people have only one neighbour. One doctor has 2 neighbours and the other has only one neighbour. No one is sitting between the ones from Punjab and Haryana. A is sitting equidistant from both the ones from Bihar and Haryana. Similarly, G is sitting equidistant from both the one from J&K and F. H is sitting to the immediate left of E. A is sitting to the immediate left of the one from Punjab. C is from West Bengal and is a doctor having only one neighbour. F belongs to Odisha. E, who is an Engineer, is from Tamil Nadu. D is not from Punjab and A is not from Rajasthan. The sum of seat numbers on which the ones from Haryana and Punjab are sitting is 12.

Moderate Level

Puzzle 3

In Delhi University, there are six friends who live in the same building as a hostel. Those six friends are K, L, O, M, N and P live in eight different floors of the building (but not necessarily in the same order). Two of the floors in the building are vacant. The lowermost floor of the building is numbered one, the one above that is numbered two, and so on till the topmost floor is numbered eight. Each one of them also likes different brands of shoes, namely Adidas, Lee Cooper, Reebok, Bata, Puma and NIKE (but not necessarily in the same order).


The number of floors above O is same as the number of floors between O and M. There are two persons live between those who like Sonia and the one who lives immediately below from K. The one who lives on even number floor and a multiple of 6 likes Obama. O lives an odd-numbered floor above the floor numbered four. There are three people live between the two vacant floors. Only three floors between M and the one who likes Bata. The one who lives on odd number floor likes Modi and Nitishbut the one who likes Modi lives above the one who likes Nitish. The one who likes Puma lives immediately above P. Only three floors between P and K. The one who likes NIKE lives immediately above the one who likes Adidas. L lives immediately above the one who likes Reebok. The number of floors between O and the one who likes LEE COOPER is only one. The one who likes LEE COOPER immediately below one of the vacant floors. The floor number of the vacant floors are even – number. Only two floors are there between the one who likes NIKE and Bata. L lived immediately below one of the vacant floors and not on the ground floor. L neither lived on floor number 5 nor floor number 3. The one who likes Lee cooper live on one of the floors below the floor number 4. M likes Akhilesh. There are three floors between the one who likes Rahul and Reebok.

Puzzle – 4

A certain number of boxes are kept one above the other in such a way that the box at the bottom is numbered 1 and above it is numbered 2 and so on.

Box B is kept at the top and is placed immediately above J. Box Q is placed immediately above R. Number of boxes that can be kept between T and S is equal to that of boxes that can be kept between T and U. There are almost 3 boxes that can be kept between P and T. Box J is placed above S. Only 3 boxes are kept between S and J. There are 4 boxes that can be kept between R and T. Only 1 box is kept between R and H. H is placed below R. Equal Number of boxes are kept between R and I as that in P and T. Both Q and R are placed adjacent to neither S nor U. Only 2 boxes can be kept between A and B. Only 4 boxes can be kept between P and Q. Not more than 7 boxes are kept between S and U. There are not more than 15 boxes in the arrangement.

Twelve persons S, T, M, K, B, V, Y, H, A, Q, K and R attend the seminar in February, May and April. They attend the seminar on different dates 3, 15, 22 and 25 of the month. Each one of them likes different types of flower Larkspur, Anemone, Hydrangea, Freesia, Carnation, Dahlia, Angelica, Buttercup, Balloon flower, Azalea, Aubrieta and tulip but not necessarily in the same order.

Three persons attend the seminar between M and the one who likes Azalea. T attends the seminar on odd number date but not on prime number date. The one who likes Carnation attends the seminar after T. Only one person attends the seminar between S and the one who likes Hydrangea. The one who likes Hydrangea attends the seminar after S. Two persons attend the seminar between the one who likes Hydrangea and V. The one who likes Angelica attends the seminar immediately before A. T does not like Hydrangea. V does not like Azalea. S attends the seminar on prime number date. Four persons attend the seminar between R and the one who likes Balloon flower. Two persons attend the seminar between T and the one who likes Carnation. T attends the seminar before the one who uses Azalea. R attends the seminar in a month which has less than 30 days. S attends the seminar in a month less than 31 days. Three persons attend the seminar between K and the one who likes Balloon flower. K does not like Azalea. R does not attend the seminar on a date multiples of 3. V attends the seminar after the one who likes Hydrangea. Only one person attends the seminar between K and the one who likes Buttercup. V does not like Buttercup. P attends the seminar before the one who likes Buttercup. P does not attend the seminar on the 3rd of May. Both S and the one who likes Hydrangea attend the seminar in the same month. Puzzle – 6

Eight persons T, M, R, K, S, B, H and Z attend the lecture on different months March, August, June and April. They attend the lecture on two different dates 4th and 7th of the month.

Each one of them studies in different standard from I to VIII. More than three persons attend the lecture between M and H. Number of persons attend the lecturer before R and the number of persons attends the lecturer after the one who studies in standard VIII are same. R attends the lecture on even number date. Only one person attends the lecture between S and the one who studies in standard VII. The one who studies in standard I attends the lecture immediately after H. R does not attend the lecture immediately before or after S. H and M do not study in standard VII. More than two persons attend the lecture between Z and the one who studies in standard VII.
