Seven friends- Swati, Sekhar, Sonu, Sandeep, Sarman, Shenaz, Shiny go to a computer training class. They have different sun signs- Pisces, Virgo, Aries, Taurus, Cancer, Leo, Gemini. Each one of them carries a different brand laptop. The brands are Lenovo, Samsung, Hp, Dell, Sony, Apple, iball. Three of them are Hindus and four are Muslim.


None of the Hindus has sun sign cancer or Taurus or Aries. Swati is a Virgo and has and owns a Lenovo laptop. Sekhar owns a Samsung laptop. Shiny is not a Leo. Sonu has sun sign Aries and he owns an HP laptop. Sandeep is a Taurean and does not own an Apple laptop. Sarman is a Cancerian and owns a Sony laptop. The Leo owns an I ball laptop whereas the Piscean owns a Samsung laptop. The one with sun sign Gemini has an apple laptop. None of the Hindus have a Samsung laptop.

Puzzle – 2

There are 8 friends – P, Q, R, S, L, M, N, and O who have their birthdays in four months – March, June, September, and October on either 13th or 22nd of the month.

M has his birthday on the 13th of a month having 30 days. P and S have their birthday in the same month with P having a birthday before. There are two people who have birthdays between P and Q. R’s birthday is in June. O has his birthday on the 22nd of a month. L does not have his birthday on the 13th. N does not have his birthday in March.

Moderate Level

Puzzle 3

Four friends – Sajal, Shivangi, Suhail, and Sujata conduct seminars at 4 different places – Chandigarh, Delhi, Lucknow, and Meerut in 4 different slots – 10:00 am, 2:00 pm, 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm on first 4 days of the week starting from Monday. Neither a friend conducts more than 1 seminar in a day nor a friend conducts a seminar more than once at the same place.

The seminar at Chandigarh is scheduled at 10:00 pm daily. Sajal attends a seminar in Meerut at last among his friends. Sujata conducts seminars in Delhi and Lucknow on Monday and Thursday respectively. Suhail is first among his friends to conduct a seminar in Meerut. Seminar in Meerut on all days of the week are scheduled neither at 10:00 am nor at 2:00 pm. Shivangi conducted a seminar in Chandigarh neither on Monday nor on Thursday. Sajal attends 2 seminars consecutively (i.e one is conducted in the last slot of the day and the other one is conducted in the first slot of the next day). Seminar in Lucknow is scheduled after the seminar in Delhi on each day. Sujata does not attend the seminar in Meerut on Tuesday.

Puzzle – 4

In a sports meet, different teams – Black, Blue, Brown, Green, Mustard, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Violet, White and Yellow play different games – Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Javelin Throw, Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Long jump, Ludo, Table tennis, Tambola and Volleyball in different time slots – 8:00 am, 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm on different days of the week – Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Kabaddi is played before Volleyball. Team pink plays Kho Kho. Tambola is played on the same day on which Long Jump is organized. Archery is played by neither Brown nor the violet team. Team purple plays Basketball at 12:00pm. Only 2 teams play between Green and white teams. There are 3 teams that play between the Yellow and Green teams. Team yellow does not play Ludo. Badminton is played by the Mustard team. Ludo is played in the last slot of the last day of the week. The number of games played between Table Tennis and Long jump is equivalent to the number of games played between Badminton and Javelin Throw. Both Table tennis and Long jump are played before Cricket. Archery is played immediately before Tambola. Team Black plays Table Tennis. Team Red plays Cricket on Wednesday in the third slot. The number of teams playing before the Long jump is equivalent to the number of teams playing after Team yellow. Javelin Throw is played by team blue immediately before Ludo. The number of games played before Cricket is equivalent to the number of games played after Badminton.

Advance Level

Puzzle – 5

Eight persons Sunil, Sanjay, Samir, Saurav, Saha, Saran, Sara, And Sanjeev are born in the same months of different years. All have different ages and Weights. Their weights and ages are between 35-60. Their ages are considered as on the same month and day of 2017 as their date of births. (Note: consider only numerical value, not its units) It is also known that the Sum of Saran and Saurav’s weight is equal to 77.

Samir is three years younger than Sunil. Saha born in a year which is more than 365 days and the resultant of the sum of digits is divisible by 5. Saha is elder than Sanjeev. Sanjay’s age is square of a number which is not more than Saurav’s weight. The difference between the birth year of Samir and Sara is 17. Sunil’s weight is divisible by both 5 and 9. Sanjeev was born in 1966. Square of the difference between Sanjay’s age and Saha’s weight is 324. The difference of twice the weight of Sanjeev and one-fifth of saran’s age is 63. Saran born after Sara whose age difference is 108 months. The average of Samir and Sara’s weight is 52. Samir is heavier than and Sara both of them have odd number weights. Sunil’s age is as same as that of Saurav’s weight. Saran’s weight is a prime number which is below 41 kg. Saurav’s age is the same as that of Sanjay’s weight. Sara is 4 years younger than Saurav. Sara is not heavier than Saha.

Ten people P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, and Y attend the seminar on different months January, September, April, February, and May. They attend the seminar on different dates 9th and 24th of the month. Each one of them uses different currency Lev, Franc, Pound, Yen, Dinar, Peso, Lira, Krone, Dollar, and Euro but not necessarily in the same order. The person’s name starts with consecutive alphabets does not attend the seminar immediately next to each other. P does not attend the seminar immediately before or after Q. Q does not attend the seminar immediately before or after P or R. Similarly to other persons also. Three persons attend the seminar between S and the one who uses Dollar currency. The one who uses Pound currency attends the seminar on a month which has 31 days, but not in January.

R attends the seminar after W. Three persons attend the seminar between T and the one who uses Yen currency. S attends the seminar after the one who uses Dollar currency. S and Q do not use Pound currency. T does not use Dollar currency. Only one person attends the seminar between P and the one who uses Dollar currency. T attends the seminar after P. Q attends the seminar immediately before the one who uses Dinar currency. Q does not attend the seminar on an odd number of dates. T does not use the Dinar currency. Two persons attend the seminar between the one who uses Pound currency and T. R and W attend the seminar in the same month. W does not attend the seminar in the first month. Only one person attends the seminar between R and the one who uses Peso currency. Q does not use Peso currency. The one who uses Franc attends the seminar immediately after U. No person attends the seminar between the one who uses Franc currency and the one who uses the Euro currency. P does not use the Euro currency. S does not attend the seminar in April month. Only one person attends the seminar between X and the one who uses Lira currency. Neither W nor R uses Dollar currency. Neither P nor T uses Lira currency. V does not use Lira currency. U uses Lev currency. Q does not attend the seminar in May.
