Beginner Level

Puzzle 1

8 people A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H like to play different sports – Cricket, Football, Basketball, Hockey, Table Tennis, Chess, Volleyball and Badminton not necessarily in same order are sitting around a rectangular table. 3 persons are sitting on each longer side and each on the smaller sides.


D is sitting second to the right of the person who likes to play Badminton. E is sitting third to the left of the person who likes to play Chess. F and G are sitting opposite each other. C is sitting diagonally opposite the person who likes to play Volleyball. B is sitting opposite the person who who likes to play Cricket. The person who likes to play Hockey is sitting second to the right of the person who likes to play Table Tennis and second to the left of A, who is not sitting near the person who likes to play Volleyball. G is sitting on the smaller side and to the right of the person who likes to play Volleyball. Persons who like to play Table Tennis and Hockey are not on the same side of the table. The person who likes to play Hockey is sitting third to the right of the person who likes to play Badminton, who is not sitting diagonally opposite the person who likes to play Football. The person who likes to play Hockey is third to the left of C. F sits second to the left of H. The one who likes to play Football sits opposite the one who likes to play Table Tennis.

Puzzle – 2

Six friends Ram, Shyam, Gopal, Akarsh, Aritra and Anubhav with different zodiac signs viz- Pisces, Leo, Virgo, Taurus, Libra, Aries but not necessarily in the same order ,born in six different months- January, March, May, June, August and December, but not necessarily in the same order, have different favourite chocolates. Two of them like Cadbury, two of them like Amul, othrs like Lotte and Parle.

A) Neither Anubhav nor Shyam is has sunsign Virgo or Pisces
B) Ram likes Amul but not born in August, May and December.
C) The person, who has sunsign Taurus, was born in December.

Puzzle 3

In a family of 4 generations – A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are sitting around a circle facing the centre. Each of them likes different colors – Blue, Black, Green, Mustard, Pink, Purple, Red and Violet. Each of them likes a different fruit – Apple, Blackberry, Grapes, Guava, Litchi, Mango, Papaya and Watermelon.

Only 1 person sits between F and H. B likes green color and Guava is his favorite fruit. F is mother of B and likes Papaya and her favorite color is Pink. Only 1 person sits between G and A, who likes Watermelon. F is not a neighbour of E. Only the male members are immediate neighborers of D, who likes Litchi. E likes Mango. A is not an immediate neighbour of D but likes Mustard. G likes Grapes and his favorite color is Blue. D, who is a female sits second to the left of F’s father. D likes Red color and has 2 children, both of them are of opposite gender. G is father of F. C is brother of H and he sits to the immediate left of D. C is not the daughter of D but likes Apple. C’s daughter likes Mango and sits second to the right of A. A, who likes Watermelon is sister of F. D’s daughter likes black color and Blackberry is her favorite fruit. Puzzle – 4

A, B, C and D are sitting in a smaller circle, two of them are facing inside while 2 of them are facing outside. P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W are sitting in a larger circle in which all are facing inside. Smaller circle is embedded in a larger circle. They are sitting in such a manner that each member of the inner circle sits exactly opposite the member of the outer circle.

A and D face each other, and both of them sit in smaller circle. C does not sit to the immediate right of D. Both B and S faces each other. U sits second to the right of V. Equal number of persons sit between S and P as that in S and Q. R is immediate neighbor of neither T nor S. W sits to the immediate left of T, who sits third to the right of S. C sits second to the right of one, who faces S.

Advance Level

Puzzle – 5

There are 9 children – C, D, E, F, O, P, Q, R and S living in a multi-storey building numbered 1-9 from bottom to top floor but not necessarily in same order. Each studies in different class of different schools and got different ranks. Their ranks were either a prime number or square number ranging from 1 – 30 but not more than one got same rank. Each studies in different class viz. III, V, VI and VII. Not more than 3 and less than 2 studies in same class. Three of them studies in SBOA, two of them in AET and rest in Don Bosco School.

The Children who is living in the floor numbered 5, studies in SBOA School. The floor number of E is divisible by its Class. C got the second highest rank among the students in the building. D studies in Class V which consists of 40 students and number of people who got rank below him is as same as the rank of C. The students studying in Class V, belongs to same school. The rank of S is half of his floor number. No student below floor numbered 5, studies in Class VII. Neither C nor F belongs to Floor numbered 1 and 9. Only S got rank in single digit and F’s rank is a square of S’s rank. There are 4 floors between C and F, and both belong to same school. The difference between ranks of D and O is 10 and O has got highest rank. The students studying in AET School, belongs to neither Class III nor Class V. Q studies in Class VI and his rank is a square of his floor number. P is junior to S and O. The Children in the floor numbered 1 and 9, studies in the same school but not in Don Bosco School. C studies in neither Don Bosco nor SBOA school. C and R belongs to the class as same as their floor number and his rank is a prime number. P studies in Don Bosco and got third least rank among the children in his building. Number of Children living above P is as same as the Children living below D; both don’t studies in AET School. E and R belong to same class and E got 13th rank and studies in SBOA School. R lives immediately below D who studies in Don Bosco School. The difference between ranks of C and R is as same as the difference between ranks of O and E.
