Puzzle 1

There are eight employees A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H of an organization working in three departments viz M, N and O. Each of them has a different choice of fruits, viz Apple, Banana, Orange, Mango, Litchi, Grapes, Kiwi and Plum, but not necessarily in the same order. There are not more than three employees in any department.


D likes Kiwi and does not work in department O. H does not work in department N and does not like either Banana or Mango. E works in department N and likes neither Apple nor Banana. G works in department M with only C, who likes Plum. A and F do not work in the same department to that of E. The one who likes Apple works in department N. The one who likes Orange works in department M. Those who work in department N like neither Mango nor Litchi. F does not like Banana.

Puzzle – 2

Eight people P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W are sitting around a circular table facing the centre but not necessarily in the same order. T is sitting third to the right of P. W is sitting second to the right of S. S is not an immediate neighbour of either P or T. U and Q are immediate neighbours of each other. Q is not an immediate neighbour of P. V is not an immediate neighbour of W.

Puzzle 3

There are seven persons A, B, C, D, E, F and G having a meeting on seven days of the week starting from Sunday in three different companies HCL, HP, and Infosys. There are minimum two and maximum of three persons work in the same company.

The person who is having a meeting on Friday works in HCL Company. Person C is having a meeting on Wednesday and there are two persons between C and D. B and one other person work in HCL. There are three persons between both the persons work in Infosys company, and both do not have their meetings on Monday. There are two persons between E and F where E is always before F. A works in HCL and is having a meeting immediately before C. Number of persons who work in Infosys and HCL is same and D is having a meeting before C.

Puzzle – 4

Seven friends G, H, I, J, K, L and M like seven different sports, namely Badminton, Cricket, Football, Tennis, Archery, Shooting and Rugby but not necessarily in the same order. They will also go for a picnic not necessarily in the same order from Monday to Sunday (of the same week).

G will go for a picnic on Friday. Only one person goes for a picnic between G and the one who likes Shooting. Only two persons go for a picnic between L and the one who likes Shooting. The one who likes Archery will go for a picnic immediately before H. Only three persons will go for a picnic between the one who likes Archery and I. Only one person goes for a picnic between the one who likes Tennis and I. K does not like Archery. M will go for a picnic immediately before I. Only one person goes for a picnic between K and the one who likes Cricket. Only two persons will go for a picnic between the one who likes Badminton and the one who likes Football. The one who likes Football will go for a picnic exactly between the one who likes Cricket and Rugby. K and H does not like Cricket.

Puzzle – 5

Eight groups A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are going for rock climbing in different mountain ranges, viz. Aravallis, Himalayas, Satpura, Andes, Alps, Rockies, Atlas and Appalachian but not necessarily in the same order. These groups are also going for rafting in different rivers, viz. Spree, Hudson, Amazon, Tigris, Tiber, Nile, Danube and Thames but not necessarily in the same order.

Group G is going neither to river Danube nor to river Hudson. Neither group F nor group G is going to raft in the river Tigris or the river Nile. Group E is going to the Appalachian mountain range. Group C is going to the Andes mountain range and the river Tiber. The one who is going to raft in the Amazon is also going to the Appalachian mountain range. Group A and B are going for rafting either in the Nile or Thames. Group D does not want to raft in the Tigris and F does not want to raft in the Hudson. The group which is climbing on the Aravallis is rafting in the Danube and the group which is climbing on the Atlas is rafting in the Hudson. A and G do not climb on the Rockies and the Satpura. The group which is climbing on the Himalayas is rafting in the Thames. Group H and G climb either on Alps or on the Satpura mountain range.
