Puzzle 1

Eight friends A, E, Z, Q, L, M, V and S are going on a foreign trip to different holiday destinations. Their destinations are – UK, France, Italy, Egypt, UAE, Brazil, Qatar and USA but not necessarily in the same order. They left for these destinations in different Airlines viz. Qatar Airways, Air India, Singapore Airlines, Etihad Airways, Emirates Airlines, Air Asia, Lufthansa Airlines and Vistara Airlines but not necessarily in the same order.


Z, who left for Brazil, used neither Emirates Airlines nor a Lufthansa Airlines, whereas E used Air India and did not leave for France or Qatar. But the person who used Etihad Airways left for UK. L left for France whereas Q, who used neither Emirates Airlines nor Air Asia, left for UAE.One of them, who used Qatar Airways, left for Egypt. One who left for Italy used Vistara Airlines. M and V left for Qatar and Egypt respectively and the person who left for France used Singapore Airlines. S did not leave for UK. E left for USA.

Puzzle – 2

Eight school friends Rati, Anshiki, Mitali, Lalita, Anshul, Nandita, Shruti and Aditi study in the same school. They are very close friends and always play together in lunch. One day they are playing some game. They seated in a straight line but not necessarily in the same order. Some of them are facing South while some are facing North.

Rati sits fourth to left of Nandita. Nandita sits at one of the extreme ends of the line. Both the immediate neighbours of Rati face North. Anshiki sits second to left of Aditi. Aditi is not an immediate neighbor of Rati. Neither Aditi nor Mitali sits at the extreme end of the line. Mitali faces opposite direction to Lalita . Both the immediate neighbors of Mitali face North. Anshul sits to immediate left of Shruti. Immediate neighbours of Lalita face opposite directions (i.e. if one neighbour of Lalita faces North then the other faces South and vice-versa). Immediate neighbours of Anshiki face opposite directions (i.e., if one neighbor of Anshiki faces North then the other faces South and vice-versa). People sitting at the extreme ends face the opposite directions (i.e., if one person faces North then the other faces South and vice-versa). Lalita faces to south direction and does not sit any extreme end of the row.

Puzzle 3

Seven different boxes P, Q, R, S, T, U and V contain seven different fruits namely viz., Guava, Apple, Banana, Mango, Pomegranate, Plum and Orange are arranged one above the other. The box at the bottom of arrangement is numbered 1, the above box is numbered 2 and so on.

The box which contains the Mango is immediately below P. Only one box is between the Guava box and U. V is immediately above the Plum box. More than two boxes are above the box that contains Guava. Only two boxes are between the Apple box and the box that contains Oranges. Only two boxes are between the box which contains the yellow-colour fruit (not Banana) and the box which contains Guava. Q is immediately above T. The box filled with Banana is neither at the top nor at the bottom of the arrangement. Box Q does not contain Guava. Only one box is between Q and the box which one is filled with Apples. Q is placed above the Apple box. R is placed immediately above U. Neither R nor V contains Mango. Box U is not at the bottom place.

Puzzle – 4

Seven people namely A, B, C, D, E, F and G have an Birthday, in seven different months (of the same year) namely February, March, April, June, September, October and November but not necessarily in the same order. Each of them also likes different vegetables namely Brinjal, Ladyfinger, Potato, Tomato, Beans, Carrot and Pumpkin, but not necessarily in the same order.

F has a Birthday in the month which has more than 30 days. Only one person has a Birthday between F and the one who likes Brinjal. Both G and C have a Birthday in one of the months after the one who likes Brinjal. G has a Birthday immediately before C. The one who likes Potato has a Birthday in the month which has less than 30 days. Only three people have Birthday between the one who likes Potato and the one who likes Pumpkin. Only two people have Birthday between G and the one who likes Tomato. D has a Birthday immediately after the one who likes Tomato. Only two people have a Birthday between D and E. A has a Birthday immediately before the one who likes Ladyfinger. C does not like Carrot.

Puzzle – 5

A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I and J are family members. There are three generations in the family. Each member likes a different Italian food viz. Panzenella, Bruschetta, Focaccia Bread, Pasta Carbonara, Margherita Pizza, Mushroom Risotto, Pasta Basilico, Tiramisu, Panna Cotta and Raspberry Coulis, but not necessarily in the same order. There are five females in the family.

In the family each female member, except B and H, has two sisters and one unmarried brother. B has no sister-in-law. A does not like Bruschetta. The grandson of J does not like Tiramisu. No male member likes Pasta Basilico, Raspberry Coulis or Bruschetta. I is the father-in-law of F and likes Margherita Pizza. G, who likes Mushroom Risotto, is son-in-law of B. The mother of C likes Bruschetta. D, who likes Panzenella, is the unmarried sister of E, who does not like Pasta Basilico. C is sister-in-law of F, but she does not like Margherita Pizza, Raspberry Coulis or Bruschetta. E is brother-in-law of G. The father of B is husband of H and he does not like Panna Cotta. The grandparents do not like any beverage except Focaccia Bread and Panna Cotta. C is a married sister of A.
