A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H are eight employees of an organization working in three departments viz. Finance, HR, and Accounts with not more than three of them in any department. Each of them has a different choice of sports from Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Basketball, Hockey and Table Tennis not necessarily in the same order.


D works in HR and does not like either Football or Cricket. F works in Finance with only A, who likes Table Tennis. E and H do not work in the same department as D. C likes hockey and does not work in Accounts. G does not work in HR and does not like either Cricket or Badminton. One of those who work in HR likes Football. The one who likes Volleyball works in Finance department. None of those who work in HR likes either Badminton or Lawn Tennis. H does not like Cricket.

Puzzle 2

Eight friends—Aman, Bharat, Rohit, Dinesh, Ishant, Farhan, Aditya, and Hirender—are sitting around a circular table, facing the center but not necessarily in the same order. Each of them has a different designation, viz Banker, Teacher, Company MD, Politician, Corporate Leader, General Manager, Specialist Officer and CEO.

Aman sits third to the right of the CEO. Only two people sit between the CEO and Hirender. The Specialist Officer and the Company MD are immediate neighbors. Neither Aman nor Hirender is either a Specialist Officer or a Company MD. The Specialist Officer is not an immediate neighbor of the CEO. The Banker sits second to the left of Ishant. Ishant is not an immediate neighbor of Hirender. The Banker is an immediate neighbor of both the Politician and the Corporate Leader. The Corporate Leader sits third to the right of Bharat. Bharat is not a Specialist Officer. Rohit sits on the immediate right of the Teacher. Aman is not a Teacher. Farhan is not an immediate neighbor of Aman. Aditya is not an immediate neighbor of the Banker.
