A group of seven friends A, B, C, D, E, F, and G has four males and three females. Each of them has a different type of television namely, Sony, LG, Bravia, Philips, Onida, Singer, and MI, and each of them are from a different college – DMRC, CUSAT, KIIT, RV, PESIT, GNIT, and LPU but not necessarily in the same order.


None of the females has Singer or Sony. C has Bravia and she is from PESIT. A is from GNIT. B does not have Philips. E has MI and is from CUSAT. F has Sony and has not studied in DMRC. G has Singer and has studied in KIIT. The one who has Philips is from LPU. The one who has LG has studied in DMRC. None of the female members has studied either in GNIT or in CUSAT.

Puzzle 2

Seven Persons – A, B, C, D, E, F, and G – live on separate floors of a seven story-ed building, but not in the same order. The ground floor of the building is numbered 1, the floor above it 2, and so on until the topmost floor is numbered 7. Each person likes different fruits – Apple, Banana, Orange, Guava, Pomegranate, Grapes, and Pineapple, but not necessarily in the same order.

The person who likes Guava lives on the floor numbered four. A does not live on the lowermost floor. A lives on any odd-numbered floor below the one who likes Guava. Only two persons live between A and the person who likes Pineapple. Only one person lives between B and F. F lives on an even-numbered floor and does not like Guava. Only three persons live between the persons who like Apple and Orange respectively. The person who likes Apple live on any floor above the B’s floor. The person who likes Apple does not live on the topmost floor. G lives on an even-numbered floor but neither immediately above nor immediately below the floor of A. C does not like Apple or Orange. Only two persons live between D and the one who likes Guava. The person who likes Pomegranate lives on the floor immediately above the floor of the person who likes Grapes.

Puzzle 3

P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, and W are eight boys sitting around a circular table. Two of them are facing outside while the rest are facing towards the centre. All of them like books of different writers, viz. KC, UF, JP, PC, CP, PJ, FU, and KT but not necessarily in the same order. Each of them is carrying a bucket with a capacity of 3, 5, or 8 liters. The total volume of all the buckets of these eight friends is 40 ltr.

S and R are sitting third and second to the left of P respectively. The difference between the volumes of buckets of Q and the one who likes JP is the same as the number of persons sitting between them. S and V are neighbors of Q, who likes CP. The one who likes PC sits on the immediate right of Q. V is sitting third to the right of P and likes KC. The sum of total capacities of the buckets of the immediate neighbors of P is greater than 6 but less than 10.W is third to the right of T and likes FU. The capacity of the bucket of the person who likes KT is not the highest but greater than that of his immediate right neighbor. P and Ware not the neighbor of that person who likes PJ. U does not like JP and PC. Both the immediate neighbors of T have buckets of 3 ltr. capacity. The person who likes KT is sitting opposite T. The one who likes CP has a bucket of 5 ltrs. Q and P are not facing each other.
