Seven friends are visiting seven different cities namely, Jhansi, Delhi, Ooty, Shimla, Amritsar, Lucknow, and Bhuvneshwar but not necessarily in the same order.

The one who visits Jhansi is immediately above the one who visits Lucknow. There are only two persons between the one who visits Amritsar and the one who visits Jhansi. The one who visits Ooty is before Amritsar but not immediately before the one who visits Amritsar. Only three persons are between the one who visits Shimla and the one who visits Ooty. The one who visits Bhuvneshwar is immediately above the one who visits Shimla. Only one person is there between the one who visits Delhi and the one who visits Bhuvneshwar.

Puzzle 2

Eight friends L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, and S are reading different books sitting around a circular table, four of them are facing the centre of the table and the rest are facing away from the table. The eight books are Tartuffe, Candide, Beowulf, Coraline, Shogun, Cranford, Carrie and Hatchet.

The person reading Cranford is sitting at the second position to the left of the person who is reading Tartuffe. N is reading Shogun and sitting at the third position to the right of P. Q is reading Beowulf and sitting at a position diametrically opposite to that of L, who is facing away from the table. P is reading Hatchet. O is sitting at the second position to the right of P and reading Coraline. Both Q and N are facing away from the table. M is sitting at the second position to the right of R. R, who is reading Carrie, is sitting at the third position to the right of Q and facing away from the table. S does not like Cranford.
