Eight people P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, and W live in a nine-storey building but not necessarily in the same order. One of the floors is empty. The ground floor is numbered 1 and the top floor is numbered 9.
R lives above T. There is at least one floor between the vacant floor and W. Three people live between U and P. S lives below the seventh floor. One of the floors below the fourth floor is vacant. Two people live between V and Q where Q lives above V. W lives immediately below U. P lives on an even-numbered floor above S but not immediately above. Three people live between S and the vacant floor.

Seven boxes S, T, U, V, W, X and Y are placed in a linear stack from top to bottom, not necessarily in the same order. The shape of each box is different viz. Square, Circle, Pentagon, Hexagon, Diamond, Rectangle and Triangle, not necessarily in the same order. The bottommost position is numbered 1, place above that is numbered 2 and so on till the topmost position is numbered 7.
Box T is placed at the third position from the bottom. V is not a square shaped box. Y is not a circle shaped box. The circle shaped box is placed just above the pentagon shaped box. W is a hexagon shaped box but it is not placed on an odd numbered position. Box S is placed at the second position from the top. Box V is placed just above box Y. The diamond shaped box is placed just above the square shaped box and just below the rectangle shaped box. Box X is a pentagon shaped box and is placed at the fifth numbered position.
