A tram driver has allegedly been attacked by a meals supply rider throughout a street rage argument in Melbourne CBD.

Witnesses advised 9News the rider failed to provide technique to passengers getting off the tram on Swanston Avenue close to La Trobe Avenue about 2.30pm, resulting in the tram driver yelling at him.


The pair allegedly yelled at one another earlier than the argument fliped violent.

“It is understood a tram driver and e-bike rider had a verbal argument, which turned bodily,” police mentioned.

Each males have been seen with blood on their heads as they have been spoken to by police after the incident.

The tram driver, aged in his 50s, was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with non life threatening accidents.

The rider, who was carrying a Hungry Panda uniform and refused an ambulance, was arrested and helps police with their inquiries.
